Hollow cubes are colourful and light to make them easy and fun to use for kids. It is also a comfortable size for little hands to manipulate. Cubes can be used as counters, for measurement or as building blocks. As counters, it can be used for basic calculations and patterning. It can also be used as ‘n tool to measure lengths, area and volume, e.g. how many cubes do I need to cover a certain area or to make a big cube that is 3 hollow cubes high? Children can use the blocks to build towers and other constructions. While children build towers they can make predictions like: How high can I build the tower before it falls over and in which direction will it fall? Cubes can be used creatively where children make their pictures and patterns e.g. a flower. It can also be used to teach colours and to play memory games.
