This product is a welcome addition to any classroom. Time Bones are aimed to encourage children to recognise, practice and understand various forms of time. \n \n100 bones depicting three means of telling the time – \n
  1. Analogue
  2. \n
  3. Digital
  4. \n
  5. Written
  6. \n
\nUsing the slider, one of these depictions is covered. Children will have fun identifying what is behind the slider. \n \nTelling the time can be tricky to grasp – We’re surrounded by digital clocks everywhere these days – on mobiles, computers, TVs, alarm clocks, but it’s actually easier to learn to tell the time with an analogue clock rather than a digital one. Analogue clocks lend themselves to the better understanding of time because of the constantly moving hands. The visual impact of the clock face also makes comprehension easier i.e. seeing the sections of the clock and matching this to counting in 5 minute intervals. \n \nChildren need to learn how to tell the time on an analogue clock, a digital face and how to say the time. Using the Time Bones children can practice all three methods of telling the time. \n

How to use the bones:

\nEach Bone has a “slider” that can be moved to conceal part of the maths sentence. Children need to work out which part of the word has been concealed. \n \nThe dimensions of each Time bone is 214mm x 60mm. There are 100 different Time Bones in a pack offering plenty of practice for the whole class. \n \nThe “Bones” series of products are new to Learning Tools and we are very excited to introduce them to the South African market. \n \nThe Bones are screen printed onto the high quality yellow plastic. Research shows that black printed onto yellow materials optimises visual clarity. The Bones are manufactured and designed in according to the highest quality European standards. \n \nThe Bone is a high quality plastic product that has been manufactured with a “slider” in the centre. The slider can be moved according to the teacher’s discretion to conceal a specific part of the maths sum in question. The product offers children practical ways in which to engage in the area of learning being presented by the teacher.
