Plaster of Paris is a moulding material. This plaster bandage is ideal for making “shells,"  "mother moulds," or negatives." You can also use it to make castings of faces, hands, and other body parts. It is advisable that you, as an adult, use the plaster bandage for sculpting while children decorate the sculpture once it is dry. PS: Make sure to clean all your tools and items before the plaster hardens. It will be very difficult to clean afterwards.
How to use a plaster of Paris bandage to make a negative:
  1. Add a release agent (like Vaseline) over the object that will serve as a positive. This will make it easier to remove the dried plaster from the positive later on.
  2. Dunk the plaster strips into a bowl of water until saturated.
  3. Carefully pull the bandage to get rid of excessive water.
  4. Place the bandage on the positive.
Tip: The plaster will turn the water milky; get fresh water from time to time.
After the sculpture has dried, it can be painted with acrylic paint (AC-PT-031-30; AC-PT-031-A).
For children aged 3 and up.
