Clever clay is soft, lightweight, and can be air-dried, so you don’t need to use an oven. This fridge magnet kit includes clever clay (in 2 different colours), googly eyes (6), magnets (3), and a glue pen that you can use to create 3 starfish magnets.
How to use:
  1. Knead the clever clay till it isn’t sticky any more. If the clay feels a bit dry, you may add a little bit of water.
  2. Roll the clay into three different-d balls. Do not use all the clay, but leave a little bit aside for later.
  3. Pinch each clay ball until it has five arms. Let the clay dry for a bit. Do not let it dry out completely.
  4. Use the glue pen to stick the googly eyes onto your starfish.
  5. Make a hole for the mouth, and use a bit of clay to make a tongue. Use the picture on the packaging as a guideline.
  6. Take the extra clay you didn’t use in Step 2. Use the clay to make dots on your starfish. Use the picture on the packaging as a guideline.
  7. Wait till your starfish are dry.
  8. Glue the magnets onto each starfish’s back. Leave for 4 hours so the glue can set and to ensure your starfish are completely dry.
Playing with clever clay develops children’s creativity, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, hand muscles, and concentration. It also provides a fun way for children to express themselves. Seeing their finished work gives children a feeling of self-worth and accomplishment. Warning: clever clay may stain some surfaces, make sure your workspace and clothes are covered.
