Using scissors is an important skill children need to master, but as adults, we’re not comfortable giving small children ordinary scissors. These small plastic scissors are made to be as safe as possible for little children to use. The blades are not very sharp to prevent children from cutting their fingers, clothes, or hair. It is not recommended that you try to cut anything other than paper with safety scissors. Using safety scissors for cutting develops children’s fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. Cutting also strengthens hand muscles. Remember that children should never be left unattended while they use scissors.
