This shape-sorting lid with a bucket is a fun way to develop toddlers’ shape recognition. The lid has seven holes with different shapes through which the shaped blocks fit. Toddlers feel delighted and have a sense of accomplishment when they see and hear a shape falling through the lid into the bucket. Children can have lots of fun figuring out which shape fits into which hole. Tip: Move your toddler’s finger over the perimeter of the shape and then over the hole. This way the child not only sees the differences between the shapes but also feels the differences. It is also good to mention the shapes' names frequently so the child can learn them. The shaped blocks have holes in their centres so children can string them onto a lace. One can also use the blocks to practice colour recognition, counting, patterning and sequencing.

The lids fit onto the bucket in a way that prevents the lid from moving around, while still making it possible for a toddler to open it.
