Doodle Board Lazy 8

The lazy 8 or infinity loop is a profound part of the development of midline crossing. Midline crossing emerges as a child develops bilateral coordination skills. As the child learns to coordinate a strong hand which is doing something skilled (e.g. cutting) and an assistant hand which is helping (e.g. holding the paper), the ability to spontaneously cross the midline develops. Tracing with a pencil also develops finger muscle and pencil grip.
