The set includes the following shapes in 2 different sizes: hexagons, squares, rectangles, circles and equilateral triangles. 

Relational attribute blocks can be used to explore fractions and identify geometric shapes and their properties. The different sizes and shapes make the block a handy tool to learn about equivalent fractions, fraction size comparison and basic calculations with fractions. For example, the small rectangle is half the size of the big square which in turn is half the size of the big rectangle. Therefore a small rectangle is 1/4 of the big rectangle. The attribute blocks can be sorted according to colour, shape, thickness and/or size. When children are finished playing and putting the pieces back into the box they also practice shape identification and sorting. The relational attribute blocks can also be used to create pictures and patterns.
