This set includes a pin board, 64x counters, 40x elastics (rubber bands), 16x copy cards, and an instruction manual. Make pictures and shapes by hooking the elastics to the pins on the board. The counters fit nicely on the pin board, so you can use them to add detail to your pictures. You can copy the pictures on the cards or make your own creative designs. Playing Elastica develops fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, visual-spatial relations, concentration, problem-solving, logical and creative thinking, as well as colour and shape recognition. One can also use the counters for math activities like colour sorting, counting, patterning, and sequencing. Teachers can use the Elastica set to teach geometry and fractions in a fun way. For example: use 1x elastic to make a circle on the pin board. Let children measure the diameter from different starting points (e.g., vertically, diagonally, or horizontally) to discover that a circle’s diameter is the same, no matter where you start from.
