Use this teacher abacus to demonstrate basic mathematic skills, like counting, skip-counting, basic calculations, place value, double-digit numbers, and more to an entire class. When children concretely see and do math, they develop a better understanding of what they are doing than when they simply write it. For example, with an abacus, children can see that 11 = a set of 10 beads + 1 more bead = 10+1. One can also use an abacus to teach about money, e.g., 1 bead = R1. This abacus has 100 beads, that is to say, 10 rows with 10 beads each. Each row is divided into 5 white beads and 5 blue beads. The latter helps to demonstrate grouping by 5 and 10. Using abacuses develops analytical and logical thinking, numeracy, and fine motor skills.</o:p>
