A tangram is a 7 piece Chinese puzzle that is created by dividing a square into smaller geometric pieces. The 7 pieces can then be used to create many creative pictures and patterns. One can also use the pieces to make other geometric shapes, e.g. make a triangle out of 2 smaller triangles and a parallelogram. By playing with the tangram pieces children learn about different geometric shapes and their properties. They can also measure and compare the pieces’ areas, angles and perimeters or sort the pieces into different categories, e.g. triangles and quadrilaterals. This set includes 4 tangrams (28pc in total) so your child can have more pieces to play with.
