A tangram is a seven-piece Chinese puzzle that is created by dividing a square into seven geometric pieces. The seven pieces can then be used to create many creative pictures and patterns. One can also use the pieces to make other geometric shapes, e.g., a triangle out of two smaller triangles and a parallelogram. By playing with the tangram pieces, children learn about different geometric shapes and their properties. They can also measure and compare the pieces’ areas, angles, and perimeters, or sort the pieces into different categories, e.g., triangles and quadrilaterals. This set includes 3 tangrams (21 pieces in total), so your child can have more pieces to play with.
