Student clocks are handy tools to teach children how to read the time. The clock has gears to ensure the minute hand and the hour hand move in sync to help children to better understand how clocks work and to prevent confusion. To help children grasp the connection between hours and minutes, this student clock shows both the hour and the minute numbers, e.g. at the 1-hour position there is also a small number 5 to represent the minutes. This enables children to see that there are 60 minutes in 1 hour. Student clocks are operated by turning a gear at the side of the clock instead of moving the clock's hands directly. This makes it easy to handle the clock one-handed as well as prevent smaller kids from breaking off the clock's hands.
