The set includes the following shapes: squares, rectangles, circles, right triangles, parallelograms and equilateral triangles. Each shape comes in 2 different sizes.

This square fraction set can be used to teach children about fractions in a concrete and enjoyable way. Demonstrate that pieces can have the same fraction size while being different shapes, e.g. both the big right triangle and the big square are halves of the big rectangle. Use the set to teach children about equivalent fractions, e.g. show that one small rectangle is 1/4 of the big rectangle, and 2 small rectangles are half of the big rectangle (2/4 = 1/2). Children can also learn to understand fraction sizes, e.g. 1/3 > 1/8 even though 8>3. The set can be used to do concrete basic calculations with fractions. Other activities square fraction pieces can be used for include creative designs, colour recognition and identifying 2D geometric shapes.
