Seesaw balances have a very basic design that is easy to use and understand. It can be used to teach children about weight, balance and number value as well as for basic math calculations and algebra. If you place a counter near the centre of the scale on one side and another counter far from the centre on the other side the balance will go down on the side where the counter is furthest away from the centre. The seesaw balance can be used to teach children about "more than", "less than" and "equal to". It can also be used for basic math calculations, algebra and weight measurement as well as to develop observation skills, logical thinking, as well as practising fine motor skills. The seesaw balance scale works best with 1cm cube counters. Counters are not included.
